The NFL trade deadline is quickly approaching. Super Bowl contenders will look to acquire players to bulk up their roster and address their flaws.

The deadline is the last big opportunity to make a move that could be the difference between a playoff appearance and a Super Bowl run. Here are five trades that contenders should make before the deadline.

5 trades contenders should make before the deadline

#5 - Melvin Ingram to the Arizona Cardinals

Melvin Ingram has reportedly requested a trade because he is unhappy with his reduction in playing time. If the Steelers do trade him, the Cardinals are a team that makes sense.

Unfortunately, their defensive leader, J.J. Watt, injured his shoulder and will likely miss the rest of the season. Ingram could replace him at the trade deadline on one of the best defenses in the NFL this season.

#4 - Darius Slay to the Tennessee Titans

With the Eagles in rebuilding mode, Darius Slay is one of the players they could look to move on from at the trade deadline.

The Titans have looked strong this season but their one big weakness is still their pass defense. Slay is a cornerback that can help improve their coverage.

#3 - Brandin Cooks to the Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens could try to acquire a wide receiver at the trade deadline. Brandin Cooks will likely be available. The Texans have already unloaded veteran Mark Ingram and that trend should continue as they look to fully rebuild their roster.

The Ravens have a dominant rushing game, but Cooks could help Lamar Jackson open things up in the passing game.

#2 - Marlon Mack to the Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have reportedly shown interest in acquiring Marlon Mack from the Indianapolis Colts. He became available at the trade deadline after falling to third on the depth chart.

The Chiefs could use a solid a running back like Mack, and even more so with Clyde Edwards-Helaire injured. More of a ground game would help take some of the pressure off Patrick Mahomes.

#1 - Odell Beckham Jr. to the Green Bay Packers

The Packers have needed a real number two wide receiver for years now. This could be the season they finally do it. Davante Adams accounts for the majority of their receiving yards.

Aaron Rodgers could use another reliable option in the passing game. Acquiring Odell Beckham Jr. from the Cleveland Browns would propel their offense to a whole new level.
