Over the last few years, the NFL Pro Bowl has lost some value as many high-profile players have voluntarily withdrawn from the game. The NFL noticed these developments and thought of ways to bring more excitement to its equivalent of an All-Star game. They ultimately developed a new concept, which includes Las Vegas flag football and skill competition games.

So without further ado, let's discuss the schedule for the Pro Bowl and what to expect from the event.

2023 NFL Pro Bowl schedule of events

Thursday, February 2: Epic Pro Bowl Dodgeball, Lightning Round, Longest Drive, Precision Passing, Best Catch (First Round)

Sunday, February 5: Best Catch (Finale), Gridiron Gauntlet, Move the Chains, Kick Tac Toe, Pro Bowl Flag Football Game

This year's Pro Bowl will have a different look, as games will be played on two separate days, Thursday, February 2 and Sunday, February 5. On the agenda are various competitions such as dodgeball, precision passing, golf long drive, and best catch.

Sunday will see the return of the Gridiron Gauntlet relay. Fans will also will be treated to a Move the Chains game, a return of Kick Tac Toe and then the 7-on-7 Pro Bowl Flag Football Game, with the AFC taking on the NFC.

Eli and Peyton Manning will coach opposing conferences. Eli will take charge of the NFC, while Peyton will coach the AFC.

Pro Bowl Flag Football game rules and format

Three games will feature seven skill players from each conference facing off against each other. The first two games will be worth six points, while the third and final game to close out the weekend will begin with the score from the previous games and skill competitions.

The games will take on a 7-on-7 format and exclusively feature skill players. The games will be played on a 50-yard field with 10-yard end zones. Furthermore, there is a No Run Zone, where teams cannot execute running plays that start on the opposing five-yard line.

Regarding scoring, TDs are worth six points, but the extra-point tries can be for either one or two points, depending on where the play is run from (as there are no kickers here). The one-point try will be from the three-yard line, while the two-point try will be from the 10-yard line.
