How to get Crowned Sword Energy and Crowned Shield Energy in Pokemon GO

Crowned Sword Energy and Crowned Shield Energy are the latest resources in Pokemon GO. These are needed to convert Zacian and Zamazenta, respectively, into their fully powered variants. These resources will be available to trainers around the world in four phases, with ticketed trainers attending GO Fest Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris, getting early access. Players in other parts will get it starting with the global event on June 28 and 29, 2025.

Hero's Path Special Research

This Special Research quest will be available to trainers who purchase the in-person event tickets for Osaka, Jersey City, or Paris. It is a six-part story, where you must choose between the Crowned Sword and Crowned Shield paths.

The former gives you an encounter with Zacian and 1,000 Crowned Sword Energy. This will let you convert one Zacian into its Crowned Sword form. The latter gives you Zamazenta and 1,000 Crowned Shield Energy.

Since this is a Special Research, you must claim it during the event hours, but you can complete it at your own pace.

Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta raids

Crowned Shield Zamzenta raids will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, which is the first day of GO Fest Global. Winning these fights will give you some Crowned Shield Energy.

Sunday, June 29, 2025, will host Crowned Sword Zacian raids, which will lead to encounters with the base form of Zacian, and the list of rewards will include Crowned Sword energy.

How to use Crowned Sword Energy and Crowned Shield Energy in Pokemon GO

To use Crowned Sword Energy and Crowned Shield Energy in Pokemon GO, you need at least 1,000 units of the resource. Once you have it, select the Zacian or Zamazenta you wish to upgrade and give it the energy

This process is reversible. Once a Zacian or Zamazenta has been converted into the respective Crowned form, it can be changed into the Hero form for free. In fact, subsequent Crowned form transformations will also cost zero Energy.
