Jigglypuff Pokémon

Last Modified May 28, 2021 07:26 GMT

Jigglypuff debuted in Generation I as a Normal/Fairy-type Pokémon. It was a pure Normal-type before Generation VI. Jigglypuff evolves from Igglybuff when leveled up with high friendship, and when exposed to a Moon Stone, it evolves into Wigglytuff. It first appeared in the video games Pokémon Red and Blue, as well as their sequels, before moving on to merchandise, spinoff games, animated and printed adaptations of the franchise. It is worth mentioning that Jigglypuff is also Clefairy's counterpart.

Appearance of Jigglypuff

Appearance of Jigglypuff

Jigglypuff has a spherical pink body with large blue eyes and pointed ears (with black insides). Its arms are short and stubby. Its feet are similar in appearance except that they are slightly longer. A curled tuft of fur sits atop its head. Jigglypuff's body is filled with air, and it can deflate until it is flat.

Behavior of Jigglypuff

Behavior of Jigglypuff

Jigglypuff has a stretchy skin, and large lung capacity greater than that of most other Pokémon, which allows it to inflate its lungs and begin singing a soothing and mysterious lullaby once it has an opponent's attention. Anyone who listens to this melody may fall asleep. Jigglypuff will keep singing until the opponent falls asleep and will even go on to endanger its own life by singing until it runs out of air if the opponent refuses to fall asleep.

It can change the frequency of its voice to match the brain waves of someone sleeping to ensure that its opponents continue to remain asleep. It has a vocal range of more than 12 octaves, but its ability varies from person to person. Jigglypuff’s song varies by region it currently is, and this might even sound like shouting in some areas. It is mostly found in grassy meadows and lush green plains. Lastly, Jigglypuff also possesses the ability to hypnotize opponents with its eyes.

Strengths and Weaknesses

As mentioned earlier, Jigglypuff is a fairy and normal type Pokémon. Fairy type Pokemon are strong against Fighting, Bug, Dark Pokemon but weak against Poison, and Steel Pokémon. In contrast, normal type Pokémon but weak against rock Pokémon. A combination of these Strengths and Weaknesses results in Jigglypuff being strong against Fighting, Bug, Dark-type Pokemon taking only half the normal damage from each of these types.

It is, nevertheless, weak against Poison, Steel, and Rock Pokemon taking twice the normal damage from them. Note that it is unaffected by Dragon and Ghost-type Pokemon taking no damage from either type.

Shiny Jigglypuff

Shiny Pokemon are one of the most desired items in Pokemon games. It is truly a rewarding experience to track them down and catch them all. However, doing so is easier said than done as the odds of finding a shiny Pokémon are around 1:450 in Pokemon GO. The Shiny Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff are identical to their regular counterparts, but with a distinct color palette. The majority of its body is emerald green, except its stomach hooves, skull, and club, which are cream.

Last November was the greatest time to catch a shiny Jigglypuff as it was featured in a spotlight hour, and the higher spawn rate meant that with a little walking, any trainer was able to locate a shiny Jigglypuff. Finding a Shiny Jigglypuff has become extremely difficult after the spotlight, it still has a 1:450 chance to spawn anywhere its normal counterpart does. It’s worth repeating that Jigglypuff is a normal-type Pokemon, which is more common than most others. This means that the probability of finding a Shiny Jigglypuff is higher than other shiny Pokemon in the game.

Evolving Jigglypuff

Evolving Jigglypuff

Evolving Jigglypuff in Pokemon Go is fairly simple in theory as it needs only 50 candles to evolve. Once you finish evolving Jigglypuff it turns into Wigglytuff. The final evolution of Jigglypuff has a very impressive Stamina stat at 295 but only has 90 defenses, meaning it won’t be competing with other Gym defenders like Snorlax and Blissey. Offensively, it does learn Hyper Beam, a strong move that does an impressive 47.5 DPS. Considering the fact that Wigglytuff is an evolution of Jigglypuff, most aspects of their appearance resemble. Wigglytuff has large, saucer-like eyes with the surface of its eyes are always covered with a thin layer of tears.

Best Moveset

The Pound move allows Jigglypuff to physically pound the target with its forelegs. This move is slightly stronger than Tackle with a damage of 40. The next move, Body Slam, follows a similar method but in this move, Jigglypuff drops onto the target with its full body weight, with a small chance of leaving the target paralyzed, a condition where the target is unable to attack for a quarter of the time.

One of Jigglypuff’s most effective moves is Play Rough. It can inflict 90 damage and also has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Attack stat by one stage – which can be crucial in battles against offensive Pokemon. Hyper Voice uses Jigglypuff uses its diverse vocal range to emit a horribly echoing shout with the power to inflict damage. This move can hit Pokémon even if they are behind a substitute and will also destroy certain natural objects found in the background of battles.
