New leaks have emerged regarding Pokemon Unite's ongoing roster expansion, which could thrill die-hard franchise fans. The familiar leaker @ElChicoEevee claims that two legendary Pokemon from the Hoenn region, Latias and Latios, will soon be joining the battleground.

The Pokemon Company and TiMi Studios have not formally confirmed this, but the leaker recently posted a YouTube video that included the detailed movesets for both Eon Duo. These leaks provide information about the potential gameplay of the sibling pair.

As usual, it's crucial to keep in mind that information that has been leaked is not definitive and should be taken with a grain of salt. Based on the leaked information, let's examine what Latias and Latios could contribute to Pokemon Unite in more detail.

Pokemon Unite leaked movesets: Latias

Latias seems to be a support-oriented entry with a high potential for synergy, especially when teamed up with Latios. Every time it performs a move, its passive ability, Levitate, increases the speed of its movements. It accelerates even more if Latios is close by.

It can even fly straight to Latios when they are on the same team, which promotes coordinated play by enhancing mobility and teamwork. To avoid overuse, this ability has a cooldown.

Latias begins the match with two basic options:

  • Confusion sends out a small telekinetic blast, dealing damage and slowing targets.
  • Swift fires a spread of star-shaped projectiles across a broad area, damaging anything in their path.

As it levels up, Latias can choose from powerful move upgrades, such as:

  • Mist Ball, which slows and marks enemies with a misty flurry. Especially when Latios is used, a second activation creates an area-of-effect mist zone that debuffs opponents and amplifies allied damage against them.
  • Dragon Pulse is a beam that damages everyone it hits in a selected direction and also heals Latias, which is followed by telekinetic projectiles that get more powerful as Eon Power is accumulated. After learning Dragon Pulse Latias gains Eon Power when it defeats wild or opposing Pokemon.
  • Dragon Cheer, which can be used twice and enhances an allied Pokemon's subsequent basic attacks. Latias flies to the same ally and receives the buff itself if it is used on them twice.
  • Dragon Breath, a long-range gust that increases in strength as Eon Power is accumulated and reduces the enemy's Special Defense.

Mist Blast: Latias can lock onto an enemy, charge up, and then release a high-damage pulse that resets its cooldowns with its Unite Move, Mist Blast. Latios is ideal for coordinated takedowns because when it uses its Unite Move on the same opponent, their combined attacks explode for extra area damage.

Pokemon Unite leaked movesets: Latios

Similar to Latias, Latios uses Levitate as a passive, which speeds up its movements after a move. Additionally, it can fly straight to Latias when they are on the same team, which gives it a synergy bonus when Latias is close by.

Latios also starts with Confusion and Swift, which function identically to Latias’ versions, providing early-game telekinetic and ranged options.

As he levels up, its toolkit leans more toward offensive pressure and crowd control:

  • A light orb that marks enemies is fired by Luster Purge. It increases the user's and Latias' damage against designated targets when used repeatedly or after a brief period.
  • In contrast to Latias' version, Dragon Pulse dashing forward improves its next basic attack. Eon Power is granted, and destructive telekinetic projectiles are spawned when enemies are hit with a Dragon Pulse empowered boosted attack.
  • The two-part ability, Telekinesis, damages and slows opponents. A second cast introduces a special kind of battlefield disruption by pulling two targets together if they are different or stunning them if they are the same.
  • Draco Meteor calls down comets on a targeted area. Comets fall more frequently and deal more damage when Latios has more Eon Power. In teamfights, this move applies a lot of pressure and scales drastically.

Eon Blast: Latias' Mist Blast and Latios' Unite Move, Eon Blast, are functionally the same. It resets its move cooldowns, charges a power pulse, and targets an enemy. When both the pulses are combined and aimed at the same target, they deal bonus damage, making them a powerful synergistic set of moves.

Pokemon Unite Latias and Latios leaks: Speculations and strategic potential

Ad

These movesets imply that Latias and Latios are made with an emphasis on tactical coordination and synergy, though this is not confirmed. Teams that draft both may benefit from the complementary nature of their passives and unite moves.

With a focus on utility, zone control, and helping allies both offensively and defensively, Latias is best suited for the Supporter role. Latios is most likely an Attacker, but depending on how well his durability and control effects are balanced, it could also be called an All-Rounder.

Both Pokemon share the Eon Power mechanic, which suggests a ramping playstyle in which regular battle participation increases their effectiveness. Carefully controlling their Eon Power could give players a big advantage in late-game combat.

The ability to fly between them also opens up new mobility options that might change the way that team rotations or specific goals are approached.

In the Pokemon Unite community, @ElChicoEevee is often taken seriously due to their track record, even though this information is still unverified. The addition of Latias and Latios might provide a new dynamic and a duo-centric playstyle that is something new and fresh in the game, if these leaks are true.
