Damian Priest (birth name: Luis Martinez) is an American professional wrestler of Puerto Rican descent. He was born on September 26, 1982, in New York City, United States, to a Nuyorican family. Priest developed his passion for professional wrestling by watching the World Wrestling Council (WWC) after moving to Dorado, Puerto Rico, where he was raised. He began his professional wrestling journey in 2005 by participating in multiple independent promotions across New Jersey.
In March 2015, Priest appeared in Ring of Honor (ROH) for the first time. There, he appeared as Punishment Martinez, winning the ROH World Television Championship once. His stint with the ROH ended in September 2018 and the following month, he inked a deal with WWE. Initially competing on the NXT brand, he later moved to the main roster. As of February 2024, he is performing on WWE’s SmackDown brand.
