Which number has never won the Royal Rumble?

Which number has never won the Royal Rumble
Royal Rumble

Royal Rumble is where thirty hungry superstars charge the ring, each vying for the golden ticket to WrestleMania. For more than three decades, countless legends have entered the free-for-all and some of them have etched their names in the history. Remaining the last man standing in a thirty-man extravaganza is a task easier said than done.

While a zeal to win and the strategy to fight is crucial in the Rumble, there are some other factors too. The number at which a wrestler enters the mix greatly affects their chance of winning the Royal Rumble match. Logically, a person who enters last has to shed the least sweat to get things done. Over its reach history, the winners have spread from the first entrant to the very last.

But hidden within the statistics and epic eliminations lies a curious anomaly: a select few entry numbers that remain barren wastelands in the Rumble's rich tapestry. The entry numbers of these cursed digits have witnessed countless valiant efforts and near misses. Yet, they have never tasted the sweet nectar of victory.

What is the unlucky Royal Rumble number?

What Royal Rumble Number has never won?

Before the 2024 edition of Royal Rumble, there are a total of 11 entry numbers that have never given a winner in the Men’s Royal Rumble. If we also include the Women’s Royal Rumble, then the number goes down to 10.

The ten entry numbers that have never won the Royal Rumble match are 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 15, 20, 21, 26. Additionally, entry number 17 has also never won the Men’s Royal Rumble match but Charlotte Flair won the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble after entering at Number 17. More than 40 editions of Royal Rumble have taken place and it is quite surprising that there are still 10 entry spots remaining with no winners.

If we also include the 2011 Men’s Royal Rumble which had 40 participants, the spot increase drastically. No one from position no. 31 to 40 has won the Royal Rumble match except No. 38 (Alberto Del Rio). However, it is better not to include the extended 10 participants as it was a one night thing. If we also include The Greatest Royal Rumble (2018), then only entry no. 41 from the further ten extended entries has won the Royal Rumble match.

What Royal Rumble number has the most runner-ups?

The entry number 30 has given a total of 7 runner-ups in history, the most through any entry number. Mr Perfect, Ted DiBiase, The Undertaker, Ryback, Randy Orton, Randy Savage and Roman Reigns have all fallen just short of victory after entering at number 30.
