The Bloodline is a professional wrestling faction in WWE that debuted in July 2021. It was formed following a storyline conflict between Roman Reigns and his cousins, The Usos. After resolving their differences, the trio united under Reigns' leadership, with Paul Heyman serving as their manager. Roman Reigns held the position of Tribal Chief from April 2022 to April 2024. Later, Solo Sikoa became the new Tribal Chief and expanded the group by adding Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.

At SummerSlam 2024, Solo Sikoa challenged Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship but failed to win after being attacked by Roman Reigns. This incident ignited a rivalry that led to a match at Bad Blood 2024, where Sikoa’s Bloodline team defeated Reigns and The Usos. To settle the score, Reigns joined forces with CM Punk, The Usos, and Sami Zayn to defeat Sikoa’s team, which included Bronson Reed, in a War Games match at Survivor Series 2024. The feud culminated on the debut episode of WWE Raw on Netflix, where Reigns defeated Sikoa to reclaim his position as The Tribal Chief.

Bloodline Rules in WWE

The Bloodline faction is named after the strong familial connections of its members to the Anoaʻi family, which has a significant presence in Samoan wrestling. Members of the Bloodline follow specific customs, with the leader being called the Tribal Chief. The Tribal Chief wears the Ula Fala, a symbol of leadership in Samoan culture. The Ula Fala is worn by chiefs to demonstrate their authority over their families and tribes.

In the context of the group’s in-ring competition, unique match stipulations such as The Bloodline Rules match or The Tribal Combat match are implemented. These stipulations are similar to No Disqualification matches, allowing participants total freedom within the ring. Much like a street fight or no-holds-barred contest, it permits the unrestricted use of weapons and allows outside interference without consequence.
