Mookie Betts is a professional baseball player, representing the Los Angeles Dodgers in the MLB. He is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and attended Overton High School. The former Boston Red Sox player is known by his full name, Markus Lynn "Mookie" Betts. He plays as a shortstop for the Dodgers, winning the Gold Glove Award six times and the Silver Slugger Award seven times.

Mookie Betts has three World Series to his name. In 2018, Betts was named the American Association's MVP and secured the second spot in the Wins Above Replacement list. Drafted by the Red Sox in 2011, Betts debuted in 2014, at first playing second base and outfield for the team. He transitioned to a center fielder in 2014 and a right fielder two years later. Betts made history by becoming the first player to bring home a Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, batting title, MVP, and World Series in 2018.

Mookie Betts suffered his first injury, a bruised left foot injury in April 2018 during a match against the Baltimore Orioles. This happened because of Betts' collision with Baltimore's catcher Chance Sisco. However, his X-ray was negative, and hewas declared fit, based on Sports Illustrated.

Right Hamstring Tightness

Betts faced his second injury about 15 days later in the same month in 2018. He left the field after the 4th inning due to right hamstring tightness while playing against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Tightness in Side

Mookie Betts faced a Tightness side injury in May 2018. Betts was removed from the lineup against the Atlanta Braves and did not play as planned due to injury. However, the injury was not a major one.

Strained Left Abdominal

Mookie Betts faced a Strained left abdominal injury in May 2018. He was placed on the disabled list for 10 days due to that injury.

Shin

Mookie Betts suffered a shin injury in August 2019. He faced a left shin contusion while playing against the Kansas City Royals, which later removed him from the game.

Foot Injury

Mookie Betts faced a foot injury twice within 10 days in September 2019. He faced the injury on the 14th and 24th of September 2019. Based on MLB.com, Betts was out of action during that period because of swelling in his foot. Betts faced another injury in his foot in July 2023 due to fouling a pitch off his left foot.

Middle Finger

Mookie Betts suffered an injury to the middle finger of his left hand in 2020. He faced the injury due to a swing while hitting a shot against the Diamondbacks. Based on MLB.com, he was removed in the 6th inning, and the X-rays were found negative in the case later.

Hip Injury

Mookie Betts faced a hip injury in September 2020. He was hit on his left hip by a pitch. He faced an injury in his hip again in July and the following month in 2021 due to a spur in one of his pelvic bones.

Back Injury

Betts faced a back injury in July 2021. He suffered from back stiffness but there was no structural damage, according to Betts. However, he was sidelined from the games due to precautionary measures.

Wrist Injury

Betts suffered an injury to his wrist in April 2021 while playing against the Royals. He was hit in the forearm by a fastball with a speed of 95 mph. The X-ray reports suggested that his left hand was fractured and was listed on the injury list, as per MLB.com.

Shoulder Injury

Mookie Betts faced injury in May 2021 because of soreness in his shoulder. He was scheduled to spend an off day and restrained himself from playing in the National League All-Star game because of the injury.

Rib Injury

Betts faced a crack in his right side rib in June 2022. He picked up the injury in an outfield play following his clash with Cody Bellinger while playing against the Angels.

Ankle Injury

Mookie Betts suffered from an ankle injury due to soreness in that portion of the leg. Betts was not in the lineup to play the game against the Reds because of that injury in July 2023.

Hand Injury

Mookie Betts suffered from a hand injury in June 2024. His left hand was fractured after being hit by a pitch. The injury happened when Betts was playing against the City Royals. The injury didn't need surgery, but it removed him from the game for a couple of months.
