With the NBA trade deadline quickly approaching, many teams are focused on improving their teams via trades. Considering that the professional basketball league allows no trades after Feb. 9, teams have only a few more days to make moves.

Fortunately, even after the NBA trade deadline, teams will be able to acquire players through free agency. Several great players are currently free agents and could get another chance very soon.

This article will reveal three 3-point shooters teams should look to sign before the NBA trade deadline. Considering how offense-oriented the league is nowadays, these players could have a lasting impact.

These 3-point shooters should be signed before the NBA trade deadline

1) Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony has not retired yet. The 10-time All-Star is currently a free agent and is looking for another opportunity in the NBA. Anthony last played for the LA Lakers in the 2021-22 season.

Despite being 38, Melo is still a great offensive player. His offensive arsenal is very diverse and he could be a fantastic backup player for many teams.

Anthony used to be a superstar while playing for the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks. However, his prime is over and he understands that he can only be a backup player now.

It's interesting that Melo has been an efficient 3-point shooter off the bench. In 140 games as a reserve, Anthony has averaged 13.3 points per game on 38.8% long-range shooting.

2) Meyers Leonard

Signing Meyers Leonard might be somewhat controversial, but the 7-footer has done a lot to learn from his mistake. Meyers hasn't played since March 2021 and is still looking for another opportunity in the league.

As many players remember, the center was suspended for his anti-Semitic comments on a Twitch stream.

The LA Lakers hosted Leonard for a workout in January 2023 and may be interested in signing him before the NBA trade deadline. Considering that he's a great 3-point shooter, the Lakers would benefit from having him on the roster.

Throughout his 9-year NBA career, the big man has converted 39.0% of his 3-point shots. In two seasons with the Miami Heat, Leonard shot 51.0% from the field and 41.5% from long range.

3) Trevor Ariza

Like Carmelo Anthony, Trevor Ariza last played for the Lakers. The NBA veteran, who is now 37, has played 18 seasons in the professional basketball league and has not retired yet.

Throughout his journey, Ariza has played for 10 different teams. During his first stint with the Lakers, the 6-foot-8 forward won the championship ring as well.
