#2 Age

It's been a storyline throughout the offseason that has gotten a bit old, but it's too important to ignore. The reason it's become so popular to talk about is the recent injury history with a number of veterans on the roster. The Lakers front office went out this offseason and made it a goal to add a number of important pieces to their depth. With a limited amount of cap space, the Lakers had to look at adding a number of older players. Carmelo Anthony was brought in as some intriguing depth off the bench as well as Rajon Rondo. Two veteran bigs in Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan were also added to the roster in free agency. There's no denying the talent that this Lakers roster has, but can they keep everyone on the court and away from the trainer's table? After a year in which the Lakers struggled with injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, it's going to be the only potential weakness that can hold the Lakers back this year.

#1 Shooting

Although the Los Angeles Lakers added some serious firepower this summer, they also are still going to lack some consistency when it comes to outside shooting. A number of key players on this roster aren't necessarily known as "elite" shooters. Russell Westbrook is most effective at transitioning or attacking the basket. LeBron James is a respectable outside shooter but he's not going to be relied upon to be a sharpshooter for this team. Rotation assets like Talen Horton-Tucker and Rajon Rondo aren't going to be called upon to stretch the defense with their shooting. To put it in so many words, it's going to be fascinating to see how the spacing looks with this team. It looks as if the Lakers' best shooters could potentially be Malik Monk and Kendrick Nunn for the upcoming season.
