Ever since Stephen Curry showed up and blew the league away with his long-distance marksmanship, the NBA has trended more and more towards three-point attempts rather than midrange. So there will always be people who's sole purpose on a team is to hit three-pointers like Joe Harris or Duncan Robinson. However, there are bound to be off nights for everyone when the player just cannot get the shot to fall.

Stephen Curry holds the record for most games in a row with at least one three-pointer with 157. If you include the playoffs then that number jumps to 196 consecutive games. Nobody can maintain that long a streak of shooting at least one three as sooner or later, that day comes when you cannot sink that long-distance attempt. Moreover, there are also occasions where the player leaves early or plays minimum minutes due to injury.

Stephen Curry saw his remarkable streak broken in the 2016-17 season when he went 0-10 against the LA Lakers. He was so livid with himself that he came back in the next gamer and dropped 13 threes to set the then-NBA record.

The person second on the list is Stephen Curry himself with 127 straight games, which is an active streak. So the only person to break his record is probably him.

#3 402 threes in a season at 45% shooting

There might be someone who shoots more than 402 threes in a season someday but they will likely chuck up a staggering amount of shots to get there. Curry set the record for most threes in a season in 2012-13 with 272 which broke Ray Allen's record of 269 and he did so with 83 fewer attempts than Allen. He then surpassed it in 2014-15 with 286 and then eclipsed his own record once again in 2015-16 with 402. There have only been five occasions when a player has made more than 300 threes in a season and four of those occasions is Stephen Curry.

James Harden came close with 378 threes in the 2018-19 season but he shot 36.8% to get there (1028 3PA). Curry set his 402 record while shooting at an absurd 45.4% from deep (886 3PA). To further show how efficient Curry is and that no one is likely going to touch him, in those three other occasions when he shot 300+ threes, he was better than 41% each time. So yes, someday someone will make more than 402 threes in a season, but they'll likely never shoot better than 45% to get there.

#4 30 points per game shooting 50-40-90

Another stat to show how ridiculous Stephen Curry is, he joined the exclusive 50-40-90 club in the 2015-16 season but is the only one in that club to ever do so while averaging 30 points per game. 50-40-90 club is a group of players in NBA history who shot 50%+ from the floor, 40%+ from beyond the arc and 90%+ from the free-throw line. It is the epitome of efficient basketball.

Volume shooters, especially those who operate from outside the arc, aren't highly efficient because of the attempts it takes to touch 30 PPG. In NBA history, there has never been a player who shot 50-40-90 and average 30 points per game in a single calendar month. Curry did so last season in the month of April when he averaged a whopping 37.3 points per game on 51/46/90 shooting splits. Not just one month, Curry is also the only player in league history to do so in the entire season.

So there will be players who shoot 50-40-90 in a season or a month. There will also be players who average 30 points per game in a season or a month. But nobody is gifted enough to do both at the same time.
