Stephen Curry's 16 loss tally against the Denver Nuggets is technically the second most of his his career (the top two teams are tied). When Chef Curry joined the league, Carmelo Anthony was still a leading force in the NBA and was still playing for the Denver Nuggets.

Anthony, who recently joined the LA Lakers along with Russell Westbrook, left the team in 2011. The Nuggets faced a downfall post that and missed five consecutive playoffs from 2013-14 to 2017-18. However, with the rise of their MVP player Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets have made their way back into being a regular playoffs contender team.

The team has also become a regular source of misery for Stephen Curry. Throughout his career, the 2015-16 steal champion has played against the Nuggets in 34 regular season matches. Despite averaging 23.4 points per game, he has lost 16 times.

While on a championship bid, the Stephen Curry-led Warriors met the Denver Nuggets on February 13, 2017 and lost 11-132. Curry's 11 points and five assists were below expectations. A major cause for this was his one of 11 shots made from the three-point line. It is matches like these that remind us how Curry is also capable of having off-days.

#2 Oklahoma City Thunder (17 losses)

The Oklahoma City Thunder became one of the most vicious teams in the league under the duo of Westbrook and Kevin Durant. In fact, OKC's 2010s record was even better than their 90s record.

Where in the 90s, the Thunder team, named the Seattle Supersonics then, reached nine playoffs series, appeared in two Conference Finals and one NBA Finals. The 2010s Thunder reached the playoffs in nine seasons, appearing in four Conference Finals and one finals.

Stephen Curry played 37 games against the team from Oklahoma and lost 17 of them. However, it wasn't the lack of effort that led to this conclusion, instead it was the ability of the OKC team to outscore even the best players in the world. Stephen Curry's average of 26.2 points per game in the 37 matches still led to 17 losses and that speaks a lot about the kind of offensive weapons possessed by the Thunder in recent years.

#1 San Antonio Spurs (17 losses)

The San Antonio Spurs of the 21st century will go down in history as one of the greatest dynasties. Their four championship wins since 2000 have only been topped by the Laker's record of six rings.

Even though the team has not made it to the playoffs in the last two seasons, they are still fierce competitors and have remained so for the entirety of the past decade. Stephen Curry has lost 17 games against this team. However, the Spurs have recorded this feat in only 30 games as compared to OKC's 37 games.

To recapitulate one such game where despite Stephen Curry's brilliant performance, he still lost, take a look at the video below:

In this particular game dated December 19, 2013, Steph's 30 points and a whooping 15 assists were not enough to derail the Spurs squad exclusive of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker.
