The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings resume their rivalry in Wednesday's preseason game at the Golden 1 Center. The Warriors are off to a 1-0 start after winning 91-90 in Saturday's contest against the LA Clippers, thanks to a Lindy Waters III game-winner. Meanwhile, the Kings will be in action for the first time this season.
Both teams enter a crucial year with their current cores after failing to make the playoffs last year. The Warriors are possibly looking at a rebuild if they fail for another year, while the Kings are in the same boat despite breaking their 16-year playoff drought in 2023.
However, it seems like an unlikely proposition for these two teams to go through a major change at the trade deadline or the season's end. The Warriors have reinforced their roster around Steph Curry by moving on from Klay Thompson and adding depth with Buddy Hield, De'Anthony Melton and Kyle Anderson.
Meanwhile, the Kings went big and acquired veteran star DeMar DeRozan to improve their chances of success in the stacked Western Conference.
