It is understandable that Klay Thompson's NBA 2K rating fell from 92 to 89 given that he hasn't played an NBA game since June 2019. However, his rating could at least increase by one point up to 90 in NBA 2K22 considering he is making his return to the NBA. Keep in mind, he is coming off an ACL tear and subsequently an Achilles injury, so his rating has a chance of going down as well.
Nevertheless, Thompson has been one of the best shooting guards in the league for a while now. His name is often brought up in the debate of the best two-way players in the sport.
Klay Thompson has 89-rated outside scoring, 66-rated inside scoring, 79-rated athleticism, 69-rated playmaking, 42-rated rebounding and 78-rated defense. He has a total of 38 badges in NBA 2K21 with 24 gold, five silver, seven bronze and two Hall of Fame badges.

Bradley Beal, the runner-up scoring champion in the 2020-21 NBA season, is also the runner-up for best shooting guard in NBA 2K22. He is rated 90 as of NBA 2K21 and his rating is expected to stay the same with an occasional fluctuation to 91 if he drops another 50-piece in a game.
Beal has 93-rated outside scoring, 68-rated inside scoring, 80-rated athleticism, 80-rated playmaking, 47-rated rebounding and 57-rated defense. He has a total of 30 badges in NBA 2K21 with 13 gold, 14 silver, and three bronze badges.
#1 Kyrie Irving - 91

Kyrie Irving would normally be featured on the point guard list, but since James Harden has taken that role on the Brooklyn Nets, the former tops the list of shooting guards in NBA 2K. Irving has a 91 rating in NBA 2K21 and we expect that to remain the same for the upcoming version as well.
He tends to miss a lot of games and given his superstar teammates, he is unlikely to erupt for 50 or 60 points. Irving was the cover star of NBA 2K18 when he played for the Boston Celtics.
