NBA 2k19 is the 20th installment of the NBA 2k franchise that released on September 11th, 2018.

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was the cover athlete for the standard edition while Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James was the cover athlete for the special 20th anniversary edition, which includes various physical and digital extras. For the editions across Australia and New Zealand, it was 2017-18 Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons was the cover athlete.

NBA 2K19 released across all platforms - Playstation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch. This edition's career mode features an authentic CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) commentary in Mandarin Chinese, the first in the series.

According to review aggregator Metacritic, the game has generally received favorable reviews from its critics, some even calling it the best installment of the series.

GameSpot gave the game 7/10 saying: "Although those willing to grind for everything will eventually get rewarded, the system of VC still comes off as exploitative. But there's a lot of fun to be had in NBA 2K19 despite its flaws, especially if you have a strong love for the sport."

IGN (Imagine Games Network) gave it 8.5 saying: "NBA 2K19s rock-solid gameplay and strong sense of style make it the best of the series, but its style is slightly cramped by microtransactions."
