During his Basketball career, he played basketball for various teams; in his college, he played for LSU Tigers, and after that match, he was called first-team All-American and the USBWA National Freshmen of the Year. Ben Simmons was admitted to Box Hill Senior Secondary College, which is situated in his hometown Melbourne. They struggled a lot to qualify for the NCAA tournament but failed due to some reasons. He left his school to enter NBA Draft and became the third Melbourne-born number-one pick 11 years after Andrew Bogut and Kyrie Irving. Later, he moved to the United States to join Montverde Academy in Montverde. He assisted Montverde rally in the final of the High School National Tournament in beating New Jersey’s St Benedict’s. In June 2013, he came back to Melbourne and joined the Bullen Boomers of the Big V competition and played six games for them.


He went back to Montverde Academy in 2013-14 for his Junior Session and finished this season with a 28-0 record and closed with a 71-62 victory over Oak Hill Academy in High School National Tournament at Madison Square Garden and was regarded as American’s Top High School Junior. In the next year, he signed a National Letter of Intent to play College Basketball for LSU. On January 2015, he achieved 36 points in a victory over Bishop Gorman, and for competing in McDonald’s All-American Game, he was called as a starter for the East team and was the second player from the Florida High School who won the award behind Austin Rivers in 2011 and on March 12, he was awarded as Naismith Prep Player of the Year and the Gatorade National Player of the Year on 24th of March.


After playing in the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Game, which was held on 1 April, he led Montverde Academy to a High School National Tournament with a win over Oak Hill Academy at Madison Square Garden on the 4th of April.


In his Initial Year of College, he began his journey with a national tour in Australia with LSU Tigers and won a match with an Amazing Victory over the Newcastle All-Stars. He was portrayed on the cover page of the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook and was named the SEC’s Preseason Player of the Year. He helped in LSU’s season opener on the 13th of November 2015 and recorded a win over McNeese State.


In the 2016 SEC Tournament, LSU was guided by him to defeat Tennessee in the quarter-finals to move on to the semi-finals to face Texas A&M. He successfully played 33 games in the 2015-16 season. Simmons was declared for the 2016 NBA draft and left the school due to an immediate plan to shift to Phoenix, Arizona.
