One of the most awaited and exciting events of the season is almost upon us, the NBA All-Star game. Although all the players playing in the all-star game are best of the best among the players in the league, but still, fans wonder who is the best amongst the All-Stars?

The answer to this question is the player named NBA All-Star game MVP as several exciting and brilliant players have won this honor during the course of their careers. Though the All-Star game MVP is not as important as the regular season MVP as the match doesn't have any effects on the playoff race.

Over the course of the NBA All-Star game, many great players such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Magic Johnson won this accolade several times in their careers.

Every year there always some players who are favorites to win the MVP and this year is no different. So, let's have a look at the 3 players who might win the 2019 All-Star game MVP:

3. LeBron James

If we are talking about any list which is even slightly related to the word 'best' there is no chance that James will be left out of it.

In this summer LeBron joined the Los Angeles Lakers and was performing extremely well for a player in his 16th season in the league. But due to an unfortunate groin injury, he had to sit almost 20 games.

Despite the injury, James was no.1 in the All-Star voting this season, making his 15th All-Star game appearance and will be captaining the West All-Stars this season.

LeBron has already won this award three times in his career (only player besides Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal and Oscar Robertson) and he might win his 4th MVP title if he brings out his best game.

But James has still not completely recovered from his injury which might have an effect on how he plays. Further, the LA Lakers have still not locked in a playoff spot with less than 30 games left and LeBron might hold back and not give his 100 percent due to that fact.

2. Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league this season and is one of the top candidates to win the regular season MVP.

Most people believe that Giannis is the next face of the NBA after Lebron's retirement and there is no reason to doubt his capabilities. Giannis has proved how much of a threat he can be if the Bucks management put the right players around him.

This season the Milwaukee Bucks are at the top of the East with around 30 games left in the season if the team remains healthy till the end of the season they can even clinch the Eastern Conference Final.

Giannis will be making his third all-star appearance this year, a feat that it is quite impressive considering the fact he is only 24 years old.

The Greek Freak will be captain for the team East and there is a huge chance that Giannis will grab his first All-Star game MVP if he hits the top of his form in the upcoming mega event.

1. Paul George

Paul George is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league right now despite suffering a potentially career-ending injury a few seasons back. It is safe to say that the old PG is back and probably is a far better player than he was before his injury.

As we know he has been performing extremely well and many people consider him to be the top choice to win the regular season MVP ahead of Giannis and Harden, making him a favourite to win the All-Star game MVP this year.

Moreover, PG is an elite two-way player and along with Russell Westbrook, have lifted OKC to the 3rd spot in the West.

Although PG has never won an All-Star or regular season MVP crown in the past, is this the year where he will win both these accolades? Apart from the MVP race, PG is a top contender for the Defensive Player of the Year award too.

Honorable Mentions

Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant.
