The New Orleans Pelicans versus OKC Thunder matchup is part of the NBA's 11-game slate for Wednesday night. The Pelicans are trying to survive the injury bug early in the season, while the Thunder are already looking for their 10th win of the campaign.

New Orleans has seven players on the shelf, four of which are in their starting lineup. Brandon Ingram is the only starter left standing with Trey Murphy III's recent return boosting the Pelicans a little bit. They have a tough game ahead against one of the best teams in the league.

Meanwhile, the Thunder are coming off an impressive win over the LA Clippers. They played their first game without Chet Holmgren, who is out for eight to 10 weeks because of a hip injury. They were also without backup centers Jaylin Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein, so Jalen Williams, at 6-foot-5, started in the middle.

New Orleans Pelicans vs OKC Thunder betting tips

Brandon Ingram has an over/under of 22.5 points, which is lower than his season average of 22.9. Ingram has scored at least 23 points three times in his last five games. He's heavily favored to go over, which is not a bad bet to take since he'll be the first option on offense.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 27.8 points per game this season, which is lower than his over/under of 28.5 points. SGA is coming off a 45-point outburst and has scored more than 29 points twice in his past three contests. Bet on the MVP runner-up to score less than 28.5 given the quality of their opponents.

New Orleans Pelicans vs OKC Thunder prediction

The Pelicans are the heavy underdogs against the Thunder due to their depleted roster. Oklahoma City has injury woes of their own, but they are too deep to not compete for wins every night.

Prediction is an easy win for the Thunder, with the Pelicans possibly covering the spread. The total will likely go over 222 points.
