Since retiring from the NBA, Charles Barkley has enjoyed great success as a TV analyst. Alongside Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson, the "Inside the NBA" crew continues to be a staple of coverage in the world of professional basketball.

Part of what has made this group so successful is their perfect blend of high-level analysis and witty banter. Some tune in to hear a trio of former players break down the game from their point of view, while others watch to hear the two Hall of Fame big men go at one another.

After a stellar run on TV together, it seemed that the group was ready to go their separate ways. Barkley regularly spoke about not knowing what his next step in life was going to be. He was reportedly interested in other endeavors.

With the NBA season getting ready to kick off, Barkley and company have fully committed to their future together. Reports have surfaced that all four members of "Inside the NBA" signed long-term extensions to stay with TNT.

The former Phoenix Suns big man is reported to make anywhere between $100 and $200 million with his new contract. In a recent interview with the New York Post, he opened up on what made him stick around for the foreseeable future.

“We’re all a big family – Ernie, Kenny and Shaquille are brothers to me – and I wouldn’t still be here if it wasn’t for them and all the amazing people who work on our show.
“I’m not gonna lie, though, this is a life-altering deal…and I’m blessed to be able to do live television for a living.”

Few groups come together and are able to put on something special over a long period of time. Charles Barkley and the rest of the crew are some of the best when it comes to NBA coverage, and they made the right move by deciding to stick together.

Part of what makes this cast so special is that it's almost impossible to re-create what they have built. Sure there are other Hall of Famers that could come along and fill their seats, but the banter that Shaq and Barkley have with one another is second to none.

NBA fans can let out a huge sigh of relief as the 2022-23 NBA season gets set to begin. The famous broadcast team is sticking together and not breaking apart anytime soon.
