Jalen Rose says LeBron James is "embodiment of position-less basketball", urges LA Lakers to make the playoffs

LeBron James is doing all he can to lead the LA Lakers into the postseason, but his efforts haven't proven fruitful so far. Former NBA player Jalen Rose recognized the fact that James has been trying his best and is full of hope that the Lakers will make it to the playoffs this season.

With positionless basketball slowly taking over the NBA, the former forward for the Indiana Pacers gave credit to James for being one of the pioneers of the concept.

"The power, the strength, the ferocity of LeBron James to continue to attack... You're also seeing him be the embodiment of position-less basketball," Rose said.

"Look at those lineups that he's playing with in a lot of situations. Just give him the ball and allow him to operate. It don't matter if he's being guarded by a perimeter player, an interior player, it doesn't matter if he's driving to the basket. LeBron James has been so very dominant."

"For him to still be so very dominant, effective and efficient at this point of his career, it just begs for me to hope the Lakers can find a way to stay out of the play-in, so we could get LeBron, at least, in the sixth seed. We need this man in the playoffs!"

The Lakers recently played against the Houston Rockets, and James posted an incredible statline. The four-time champion had 48 points, eight rebounds and nine assists to lead the team to victory. He even finished the game with zero turnovers, capping off an impressive night.

Los Angeles will try to get another win tonight against the rising Sacramento Kings to help improve their 20-24 record.

Can LeBron James break the scoring record before the All-Star break?

One of the most highly-anticipated events that could happen this season is LeBron James' becoming the new scoring leader. Last Sunday, he became the second player to reach the 38,000-point mark. After their bout against the Rockets, he now has 38,072 points to his name.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record is 38,387 points. If LeBron gets to play all of the Lakers' games leading up to the All-Star break, which is exactly a month from today, there's a huge possibility he could be the league's top scorer early next month. James is 315 points away from the record.

By the time the All-Star break comes around, the NBA might have arranged a special presentation in honor of the 18-time All-Star.
