On Wednesday night, the Brooklyn Nets star was in his usual playful interactions with the media. KD was then asked about Aardon Judge's new contract with the New York Yankees. Durant, being his sarcastic self, answered that he doesn't care about the matter since he's a fan of the Washington Nationals. He was born in D.C. and grew up in the area.

"I’m a Nationals fan. I really don’t care about Aaron Judge at all," Durant said.

He did recall his statements about Judge as a joke after his response got a bit of attention.

The Brooklyn Nets have been the biggest team in the NBA this season. Not because of their on-court play, but because of the drama that surrounded the organization early in their campaign. Despite all the trouble, however, Kevin Durant remains focused and has performed his best to lead his team.

Durant is averaging 29.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists while shooting 55.6%, including 34.2% from 3-point territory. His play has been enough for the Nets, as they've managed to get to the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference after a slow start. Brooklyn, which started 1-5, has won eight of its last 11 games.

Out of the Nets' Big Three, KD is the only one who's played every game this season. The 12-time All-Star has managed to stay healthy and away from controversy. In the league's most recent MVP race update, Durant made it to the top 10 and is poised to have an even stronger campaign.

The Nets are in a good place this time, keeping Durant in the offseason and letting him lead the way for the troubled team. Even though Brooklyn faced some adversities early on, they've managed to bounce back from it. The organization is lucky the two-time champion decided to cooperate with them and stay.
