LeBron James is no longer Dallas Cowboys fan: LA Lakers star comments during Instagram Live

LA Lakers superstar LeBron James is no longer one of the Dallas Cowboys’ biggest and most popular fans. The four-time MVP, in an Instagram Live session with buddy Maverick Carter, made it abundantly clear that he’s no longer rooting for the team.

Here’s what “King James” had to say about why he can’t be a fan of the Cowboys anymore (via Landon Buford):

“I had to sit put on the Cowboys man. It just a lot of things that were going on when guys were kneeling, guys with freedom of speech who wanted to do it in a peaceful manner and a lot of people in the front office, who ran the organization were like, ‘If you do that around here you won’t play for this franchise again.’ I just didn’t think that was appropriate.

"I like a lot of the players on the team, still. I love CeeDee Lamb, our boy Zeke, I love Micah Parsons, he’s a dog! Trevon Diggs, but I had to turn it in even though I still have a lot of love for the players.”

In 2017 team owner Jerry Jones, after the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers, declared that he won’t tolerate anyone disrespecting the flag. It was during that time that NFL players started to kneel when the national anthem was played as a sign of protest against social injustice.

Jones did kneel and link arms with his players a week before the Green Bay Packers game, but stood up once the flag was unveiled.

Former US President Donald Trump urged employers in 2017 to fire anyone who “disrespected” the flag during the national anthem. More than 100 NFL players from different teams paid no heed to Trump’s call and kneeled to protest.

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was the first to kneel as a form of protest. He has since been reportedly blackballed by NFL team owners, which is why he hasn’t been able to get a job in the league.

LeBron James is replacing the Dallas Cowboys with the Cleveland Browns

LeBron James now only supports his hometown NFL team the Cleveland Browns.

LeBron James, a native of Akron, Ohio, will now support the Cleveland Browns. He did, however, seem uncomfortable with his decision to stick with the success-starved franchise.

“I’m all-in on the Browns. We had one shining moment!”

The Browns are currently third in the AFC North, behind the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals. Cleveland’s NFL franchise also came under heavy scrutiny for signing Deshaun Watson amid accusations of sexual assault.

LeBron James recently declared that he has something for NFL fans. Now the world knows what he meant.
