LeBron James telling innocuous lies has caight the eyes of Twitter recently

LeBron James has recently been trending, not only because of the LA Lakers' struggles but also because of his new meme. After the tragic passing of rapper Takeoff of the rap trio Migos, James paid his respects, but fans caught on to something.

About a week ago, James paid tribute to the famed rapper ahead of the Lakers' game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 18-time All-Star wore a similar outfit that the Migos rapper once donned.

During the pre-game interview, he was asked about his correlation to Takeoff. His answer, however, surprised everyone.

"I was listening to those guys my 1st year with the Heat in 2010. They had no idea what a Migos was. They were cursing me out when I would play it in the locker room. I was like 'These guys are next, I'm letting you know right now,'" James said.

Fans then started to realize the inconsistencies in James' story about Migos. While the future Hall of Famer publicly said that he started listening to the rap trio in 2010, it's a known fact that their first mixtape, Juug Season, was released in 2011.

While there were a few who argued that maybe James was talking about the group's underground scene, fans quickly hopped in to look at his other lies.

People know that LeBron James is a generational player. But after fans realized the irregularities of his stories, they also started calling him a generational liar. Due to this, there have been accounts on Twitter that have brought back previous footage of James trying to make something up.

One instance of the four-time champion making things up was when English soccer player Marcus Rashford shared a quote from one of his previous coaches. James then smiled and agreed to it before saying it was his favorite saying. Based on his body language, it's questionable if he's being genuine.

A well-known lie from the four-time MVP dates back to his earlier days in the NBA. During Kobe Bryant's 81-point performance, everyone was surprised by how marvelous his performance was.

James, on the other hand, said in an interview that he expected the LA Lakers legend to score 70 points.

"Before the game even started, I said he was probably gon' score 70 tonight. I don't know what made me say that... When he got to 70, I was like, 'Well, he might as well go for 8,'" James said.

No one really knows if James was lying during the interview about the Black Mamba, but based on his account, it doesn't look genuine. The interview became the template for the All-Star forward's new meme, the LeBron Lying meme.

In just a week, there have been a plethora of memes of the Lakers' star. It's been everywhere and here are a few examples of the new meme of the NBA.

The LA Lakers only recently won their third game of the season after a valiant effort from Anthony Davis. LeBron James missed the game due to a strained adductor. Their next game will be against the Detroit Pistons on November 18.
