Magic Johnson officially placed his bid for the Washington Commanders

NBA legend Magic Johnson and Josh Harris Group have officially placed their bid for the ownership of the NFL team, the Washington Commanders. It was confirmed earlier today that the former LA Lakers star could have team ownership under his belt with the team's potential acquisition.

Johnson isn't alone in purchasing the team, as the current owner of the Philadelphia 76ers is reported to be his partner. Aside from being the owner of the Sixers, Harris is also the co-owner of the NHL's New Jersey Devils and the co-founder of Apollo Global Management.

Last week, CNN confirmed the partnership between Johnson and Harris. Dan Snyder, the current owner of the Commanders, has an asking price of $6 billion to those who are interested in purchasing the team.

The Commanders haven't given any updates on the situation and it could take a while for Snyder to accept the offer. Aside from the Harris-Johnson group, Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta and billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos have both expressed their interest in purchasing the team.

Magic has experience as an executive with the Lakers. Additionally, he's part of Sparks LA Sports, a group that currently owns the LA Sparks.

Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan had a chance to play together on the same team when they both represented Team USA back in 1992. The Dream Team has become iconic for its collection of great players who have all teamed up to take over the basketball world.

During their practice sessions, Johnson made a terrible decision to talk trash to Jordan. Thus making his team lose to the MJ-led practice squad. Magic told the story while he was a guest on the show Jimmy Kimmel Live.

"So, we're the Dream Team. For three days in a row, we had came into a tie, because what coach Daly did was, he split the team up, East versus West. So, [Charles] Barkley, Jordan, Larry Bird, [Scottie] Pippen and Patrick Ewing all played in the East. We had the West guys, myself, David Robinson, [Karl] Malone, [Chris] Mullin, [Clyde] Drexler and John Stockton." Johnson said.
"We would play every day. Tie. This is the fourth day, and we got out on them by 12-2 and I said, 'I'mma really rattle his chain.' So, I went over there and tapped him on the shoulder and said, 'Hey man, if you don't turn into Air Jordan, we gon' blow you out today.'"

The story ended with Magic's squad losing and Jordan putting former San Antonio Spurs big man Robinson into a poster.
