Skip Bayless admires Bronny James' mental toughness: "Growing up as LeBron Jr. and it doesn't seem to faze him"

Skip Bayless might not be the biggest LeBron James fan, but praised the mental toughness of Bronny James. Bayless had nothing admiration for Bronny, who faces a lot of pressure by just being the son of "The King." The high school senior is expected to enter the 2024 NBA Draft and possibly team up with his father.

On a recent episode of "Undisputed," Bayless gushed about Bronny’s tribute to his father by doing the "Akron Hammer" dunk. The Fox Sports analyst cannot imagine the pressure of being in the shadow of LeBron, much less having the pressure of playing with him in the NBA one day.

"I got goosebumps when he did the 'Akron Hammer' dunk in honor of his father," Bayless said. "He brought his father out of his seat because he cocked it back behind his head and it was impressive. You want to talk about mental toughness for all the reasons you just detailed. Growing up as LeBron Jr. and it doesn't seem to faze him a bit.

"He just does what he does. He's a very good high school basketball player, but I'm not seeing transcendent."

Skip Bayless and and Shannon Sharpe discussed the historic game between Sierra Canyon and Christ The King. It featured LeBron's sons, Bronny and Bryce, going up against Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan. The game happened 20 years ago when LeBron and Carmelo faced each other in high school.

Bronny James and Sierra Canyon came out victorious over Christ The King, 61-52. Bronny had 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists, while Kiyan Anthony put up eight points in limited minutes for Christ The King.

LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony put on a show in their matchup 20 years ago. James had 36 points and eight rebounds for St. Vincent-St. Mary, while Anthony led Oak Hill Academy in their 72-66 win with 34 points and 11 rebounds.

Where will Bronny James play college basketball?

Bronny James is in his final year of high school. He’s the No. 43 in the class of 2023, but is one of the most coveted players in the country. According to 247 Sports, Bronny currently has nine offers from well-known universities.

The 18-year-old guard has offers from Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oregon and USC. He has been quiet about his plans and there are no clear favorites for his commitment.

Adam Zagoria of Forbes reported last month that Bronny will not make a decision until the spring. Back in September, Bronny visited Ohio State wherein fans at the football game chanted "We want Bronny." He also donned the Buckeyes' uniform, which suited him perfectly.
