Skip Bayless eager to watch LeBron James’ son preparing to step into NBA: “I know how much it would mean to LeBron”

Last night, Sierra Canyon defeated Christ the King 62-51 in the California versus New York high school showcase. The game featured the sons of two future NBA Hall of Famers. LeBron James' two sons, Bronny (LeBron Jr.) and Bryce, and Carmelo Anthony’s son Kiyan were featured in this game on opposing teams.

James’ oldest son Bronny is a senior at Sierra Canyon and will be deciding on whether he plays in college next year or in the NBA’s G-League. It is no secret that LeBron James would like to play in the NBA with his son. They would be the first father-and-son duo to do such a thing in the NBA and the first in major pro sports since Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr. did it in baseball.

On the talk show, “Undisputed”, hosts Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless discussed the likelihood of the James family playing together. Bayless is complimentary of how LeBron Jr. carries himself through this process.

Bayless is correct that it would mean a lot for LeBron James to be able to play with his son. The question is, will it happen? James is in his 20th season in the league and his son cannot come straight to the NBA from high school as he did. That means LeBron will have to play next season and hopefully, Bronny James will be ready to make it to the league.

If it does happen, it would be the first of its kind. Per ESPN scouting, the younger James is ranked 34th in his class. It's just against other high school players like himself. It doesn’t take into account international prospects or the players that will already be in college when he gets there. The good news is that there are two years for the world to see it play out.

LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony 20 Years Later

James and Anthony will go down as two of the greatest NBA players of all time. Both were drafted in 2003 and were part of the crew that defined their era of basketball. When the two young men were in high school, they faced off against each other. In 2002 LeBron’s St Vincent St Mary’s faced Carmelo’s Oak Hill Academy.

Anthony went on to lead Syracuse University to an NCAA championship, while LeBron James went straight to the NBA from high school. Both players' careers took different turns, but each was very successful. The world first saw them as teenagers.
