With all the talk about Zion Williamson's weight, many assume that he is the heaviest player in the league. However, this is far from the truth. Today we're going to be counting down the top 5 heaviest active players in the league.

Top 5 Heaviest NBA Players This Season

#5 Brook Lopez

The towering big man playing for the Milwaukee Bucks holds the unique distinction of being one of the best shooters in the league. Weighing in at a whopping 282 pounds, Lopez can bang in the paint with the biggest of centers. Interestingly enough, his brother, Robin Lopez, sits just one spot below him in sixth place at 281 pounds.

#4 Zion Williamson (TIE)

For someone his height, Zion Williamson's size is truly remarkable. Weighing in at 284 pounds, Williamson boasts the size of a big man and the skill and explosiveness of a guard. One question that has remained a focal point is whether or not he will be able to stay healthy enough to have a long and successful career.

#3 Nikola Jokic (TIE)

The two-time defending MVP is tied with Williamson at 284 pounds. Considering the fact that Jokic is nearly six whole inches taller than the NOLA star, the two men weighing the same is a pretty staggering statistic. Although Jokic doesn't boast Williamson's athleticism, many have attested to his ability to use his strength to his advantage.

#2 Jusuf Nurkic (TIE)

The Bosnian center for the Portland Trailblazers may not look like one of the heaviest players in the league, but he certainly is. Standing at just under seven feet tall, Nurkic weighs a whopping 290 pounds, putting him tied for first on the list. Given that he has struggled with returning from a bad leg injury several years ago, Nurkic's size could certainly be a playing factor.

#1 Boban Marjanovic (TIE)

A man that towers over even the biggest of players, the seven-foot-four Marjanovic is tied for first place at 290 pounds. Despite being one of the most beloved players in the league, he is an absolute unit in the paint. Surprisingly, considering his height and weight, Marjanovic has managed to remain relatively healthy all things considered.
