Damian Lillard had a conversation with Jimmy Butler after the trade

Over the summer, rumors regarding the potential trade of Damian Lillard started to circulate. After 11 seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard had enough of losing and decided to request a trade despite it being against him. Initially, he wanted to be traded to the Heat, which the Blazers attempted to fulfill.

However, Miami didn't have the assets to satisfy Portland, resulting in him getting traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. While the trade wasn't entirely terrible, Lillard still didn't get his wishes fulfilled.

The seven-time All-Star revealed recently that he had been in contact with Jimmy Butler throughout the process. After Lillard was traded to the Bucks, he and the Miami star had a chance to discuss what had transpired.

"We’ve always been in some form of contact with each other," Lillard said. "And I said it, initially I was like, 'I want to go to Miami.' He was a big part of that. It didn’t happen. I’m here now. But our relationship will be the same. The same respect. It’s just something that didn’t happen. It was out of his control and mine."

There's a chance for a Bucks vs Trail Blazers match-up in the postseason. If that happens, we'll see Butler and Lillard go head-to-head, which will be an entertaining game for the fans.
