Shaquille O'Neal recently uploaded a photo on Twitter showing himself lying on a hospital bed. Fans of the NBA legend were scared that something serious had happened to him as he underwent a medical procedure.

In the picture, O'Neal appears to be sleeping while holding his phone. The caption from his post said he was missing his television colleagues Ernie Johnson and Candace Parker.

The four-time NBA champ works with both Johnson and Parker on "NBA on TNT." O'Neal and Johnson have been working together for more than 10 years on "Inside the NBA," while Parker appears on NBA on TNT's Tuesday show.

According to the Instagram page @shaqnews and RaphhouseTV on Twitter, Shaquille O'Neal underwent hip surgery. The reports were later confirmed by a TNT spokesperson to Reuters.

It will be interesting to see if Shaq makes an appearance on the next episode of "Inside the NBA." He appeared on the most recent episode just before the start of March Madness.

Fans were very concerned after Shaquille O'Neal posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed.

While some fans wished him a speedy recovery, others poked fun at the Lakers legend, saying he was hiding in hospital to avoid the FTX lawsuit.

O'Neal is one of several high-profile celebrities named in a class-action lawsuit for endorsing FTX, the cryptocurrency company that went bankrupt last year. A lawyer told Forbes that O'Neal has been doing his best to avoid the lawsuit.

Apart from Shaq, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry was also named in the lawsuit, along with NFL legend Tom Brady, his ex-wife, Giselle Bündchen, and actor Larry David.
