Will Adam Silver really fine LeBron James for F-bomb in acceptance speech? Hilarious memefest awaits NBA commissioner

Oklahoma City Thunder v Los Angeles Lakers
OKC Thunder vs. LA Lakers: NBA commissioner Adam Silver, NBA icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LA Lakers forward LeBron James

LeBron James became the all-time leading scorer in the NBA on Tuesday night, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. After scoring his 36th point with a fadeaway jump shot, James soaked in the applause as the game was stopped to honor the LA Lakers star.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver was in attendance and went to the court to congratulate James. Abdul-Jabbar was also present to ceremonially pass the torch to James.

In his acceptance speech, James dropped an uncharacteristic "F-bomb."

"To the NBA, to Adam Silver, the late great David Stern, I thank you guys so much for allowing me to be part of something I've always dreamed about and I would never, ever, in a million years have dreamt this even better than what it is tonight," James said. "F**k, man, thank you guys."

Now the question remains, will Silver issue a fine to LeBron after he cussed during a live televised game? The rest of the world was able to witness this as it was one of the most highly anticipated games of the season.

Other players have been fined for similar incidents, including Rudy Gobert, who cussed during a live broadcast when he was a member of the Utah Jazz last season.

It doesn't seem likely that this will happen, though.

In 2021, LeBron James hit a clutch bucket in a game against the Indiana Pacers. After making the shot, the Lakers star celebrated by making an obscene gesture that former player Sam Cassell used to do. Watch the video below.

The 19-time All-Star was fined $15,000 by the league for doing the celebration.

To make matters worse, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar called out LeBron.

"For me, winning is enough," Abdul-Jabbar said. "Why do you need to do a stupid, childish dance and disrespect the other team on the court? It doesn’t make sense. GOATs don’t dance."
