The Philadelphia 76ers start a three-game West Coast swing with a matchup against the Phoenix Suns on Monday. Joel Embiid remains out for the Sixers, but Paul George, although designated as questionable, is expected to debut for his new team. All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey will again lead the visitors.
Meanwhile, the streaking Suns hope to extend their winning run to five when they host the injury-plagued Eastern Conference team. Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are healthy and raring to lead the team. Bradley Beal could be held out, though, as he is dealing with a right elbow sprain.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Phoenix Suns preview
The Philadelphia 76ers are unsurprisingly struggling without two of their best players. In five games without Joel Embiid and Paul George, opponents have been aggressively double-teaming Tyrese Maxey. The inability of the supporting cast to step up has been a problem Nick Nurse hasn’t been able to solve.
The return of George should lessen the burden on Maxey. George, one of the best two-way players in the NBA, should also immediately contribute defensively. The 76ers can’t wait for the former LA Clipper star’s debut with the team.
The Phoenix Suns reeled off four straight wins behind a surprisingly elite defense. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are monsters on offense, but they have also made their impact defensively. The Suns, entering Monday’s game, are sixth in the league in defensive rating.
Suns coach Mike Budenholzer said after his team’s 103-97 win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday that their offense is a work in progress. If that offense hums while the defense continues to thrive, Philly will be in for a rough night in Phoenix.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Phoenix Suns betting tips
Paul George will debut for the 76ers with a 17.5 (O/U) points prop. “PG-13” hasn’t played a game yet, but he could easily top the figure. George averaged 22.6 points per game last season and played well in the preseason. Betting over seems to be the logical choice.
Tyrese Maxey gets a 33.5 (O/U) prop for points and assists combined. This season, the cat-quick guard is averaging 29.8 points and 4.8 assists per game. As the 76ers primary option on offense, he could squeak past the odds.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Phoenix Suns prediction
The 76ers, struggling on offense, will be on the road against a team with one of the best defenses in the NBA. Phoenix has been playing great in their past few games, making them the favorites to win. Kevin Durant and Co. could extend their winning streak to five and beat the -7.5 spread.
