The New York Knicks may not want to trade Immanuel Quickley

The New York Knicks are currently 26-23 and in seventh spot in the Eastern Conference. Their record is much better than last season, but the Knicks are still not good enough to compete, which is why they might make big roster moves soon.

Immanuel Quickley is a Knicks player who has frequently appeared in trade rumors. However, it appears that the team is now more resistant to trading the young point guard.

Quickley is in the third season of his professional career and is currently posting the best scoring numbers of his career. The Knicks considered trading him earlier in the season, but may have changed their minds.

New York Knicks may not be interested in trading Immanuel Quickley anymore

Earlier in the 2022-23 season, the New York Knicks were interested in trading a few of their players, including Quickley. It appears that the primary motive behind this trade was to send Evan Fournier to another team, and adding Quickley would have made the trade package more enticing.

The Eastern Conference team also considered trading the 23-year-old separately, targeting a first-round pick in return. However, it seems that this is no longer the case and that the point guard won't be traded.

According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, the Knicks are far more resistant to trading the point guard now. While they would most likely accept a great deal, chances are that Quickley will remain in the Big Apple after the trade deadline.

The 6-foot-3 point guard is having the best season of his career and there is no doubt that the Knicks could get a couple of valuable assets for him. However, keeping him on the team is also a smart move.

Immanuel Quickley's contract and 2022-23 stats

The point guard was drafted with the 25th overall pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2020 NBA draft. Despite being drafted by the Thunder, Quickley hasn't played a single game for the team since he was traded a few months after the draft.

Quickley had a great rookie season and was named to the All-Rookie team. Ever since then, he's consistently improved his skills and stats.
