Zion Williamson was criticized for his weight last season. He missed the entire season due to a right foot injury. Now that he is healthy again, the 2021 All-Star has called out his critics.

During an Interview with Fox Sports, Williamson said:

"What people don't understand is ... if they have children of their own, imagine if somebody talked about their child how they spoke about me. Critiquing my body, critiquing how I look. Every time they talked about me, it was about weight, how bad I looked. I don't even think they realized what kind of impact that can have on you."
"That's nasty because with a lower-body injury, that dictates how you walk, that dictates how you run, how you do everyday activities and how you move. For the world to critique me like that and all I was trying to do was make sure my foot was straight? It was a lot. I'm not going to lie to you, it was a lot."

During the recovery process, Zion Williamson said that he listened to Notorious B.I.G.'s debut album "Ready to Die" on repeat. It gave him a renewed happiness in life.

The New Orleans Pelicans star is averaging 22.7 points on 52.4% shooting, 6.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists in seven games this season.

Zion Williamson receives high praise from LeBron James

LeBron James had nothing but praise for Williamson following the Pelicans' overtime loss to the LA Lakers on November 2.

In his post-game press conference, the four-time NBA champion said:

"He's a great talent. We've never seen a talent of his size, his speed, his athleticism. Just like a Giannis, just like a Barkley, a Shaq. It's just certain talents that come into our league that you've just never seen before."
"It's so funny when you hear people like 'just stop him from going left'. It's the same thing I heard so many years with Ginobili. 'Stop him from going left'. Lamar Odom, 'stop him from going left'. When you're great then no matter what you do, they're going to figure out a way."
"Zion is on the verge of being great in this league for a long time."

Williamson has the tools to be a great player. His combination of size, speed, and athleticism make him a unique talent. The sky is the limit for Williamson. He has the potential to win an MVP if he can stay healthy.
