Jack Sawyer is a defensive end who spent four seasons on the Ohio State Buckeyes roster. He began his football career at Pickerington High School North, where he was a dual sport athlete, playing basketball besides football. His high school performances earned him a five-star recruit rating and the title of the best collegiate prospect in the 2021 class by ESPN. During his sophomore season, Sawyer recorded 62 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and six sacks, further establishing himself as a top prospect.

Jack Sawyer committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes and joined the team in 2021. In 2022, he won the Rose Bowl with the Buckeyes. He earned Second-team All-Big Ten honors in both 2023 and 2024. In the 2024 season, Sawyer played in 16 games for the Buckeyes, recording 59 combo tackles and leading the program to the CFP national championship.
