Jeff Sims, born January 1, 2002, is a quarterback for the Arizona State Sun Devils of the Big 12 Conference. He started his football career at Sandalwood High School, where he was one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country. Sims was named the starting quarterback during his sophomore year and concluded his prep career with 5,000 passing yards, 1,200 rushing yards, and 55 total touchdowns. In 2019, he played for the Florida State Seminoles, making 277 passing yards and 64 rushing yards in his collegiate debut. He later joined the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. According to On3, he received offers from Colorado State, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Penn State, Tennessee, Alabama, and Nebraska, among others.

In his freshman year, Sims appeared in 10 games and passed for 1,881 yards and 13 touchdowns. The following season, as a sophomore, Sims started in seven games and passed for 1,468 yards and 12 touchdowns. Sims spent three seasons with the Yellow Jackets accumulating more than 5,000 total yards before announcing his transfer to Nebraska. As a junior for the Cornhuskers, Sims saw action in five games and accounted for 282 passing yards and one touchdown. Following the conclusion of the 2023 regular season, Sims decided to transfer to Arizona State for his final year of eligibility.
