Before Ole Miss, Umanmielen played for the Florida Gators from 2020-2023 and spent four seasons with the team. However, Umanmielen entered the NCAA transfer portal on December 6, 2023, and decided to take his talents to play for the Ole Miss Rebels. In 2023, Umanmielen was ranked 10th in the SEC for tackles for loss, and eighth for sacks. His outstanding defensive play also earned him a nod in the 2023 Second-Team All-SEC, as per his college roster.
