Competing in the Big Ten Conference, the Scarlet Knights have left their mark on the college football landscape. Their home games are played at the iconic SHI Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team has achieved one National Championship and one Conference Champions. Moreover, they have played 12 Bowls like Pinstripe Bowl, Gator Bowl, Quick Lane Bowl among others. They have also achieved a bow record of 7-5. Greg Schiano will once again be the head coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team for the fifth time in 2024 since his return in 2020. His journey in American football has been characterized by his unwavering commitment to excellence. He had previously been the head coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights from 2001-11. He had also coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL) from 2012-13.

Schiano had also been the recipient of awards like Big East Coach of the Year and the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year in 2006. He stands at a record of 87-95 as of 2024.
