Nick Saban is a former college head football coach from the United States. As a former college football player himself, he represented the Kent State Golden Flashes of Kent State University as their defensive back from 1970 to 1972. Following the end of his career as a college football player, he changed gears and became a college football coach, starting with his alma mater Kent State University in 1973.

Nick Saban had coached several different teams throughout his tenure as a college football coach. He has been the head coach of three different teams, namely, the Toledo Rockets in 1990, the LSU Tigers from 2000 to 2004, and then the Alabama Crimson Tides from 2007 until his retirement in 2023. His coaching experience also extends to the NFL where he coached teams like the Houston Oilers from 1988 to 1989, the Cleveland Browns from 1991 to 1994, and then served as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2005 to 2006. Nick Saban has won seven national championships and eleven SEC titles among his other notable accolades. Since his retirement in 2023, he has become a sportscaster at ESPN while also serving in an advisory role for the Alabama Crimson Tides.
