The Delhi Capitals (DC) will look to put behind the disappointments from the last season and start afresh in their pursuit of an elusive title win in IPL 2024.
The Rishabh Pant-led unit will kickstart its campaign against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mohali on March 23, 2024.
DC 2024 Head Coach
Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting is the head coach of the Delhi Capitals Team for IPL 2024. Ponting has been the head of the DC coaching staff since 2018. The team finished third in 2019, second in 2020 and even topped the league stage in 2021 with Ponting as the head coach.
During his active days, Ponting played for the Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders Team in the IPL. He even had a brief coaching stint with the Mumbai-based franchise. Delhi Capitals have been quite successful in the IPL after Ponting joined as the head coach.
DC 2024 Batting Coach
The Capitals top-brass have not named the DC 2024 Batting Coach. Considering the presence of legendary batters like Sourav Ganguly (Director of Cricket) and Ricky Ponting (Head Coach), one can argue they do not one anyway!
DC 2024 Bowling Coach
Former Australian all-rounder James Hopes is the DC coach 2024 for fast bowling. Hopes played 84 ODIs and 12 T20Is for the Australian cricket team. He played for PBKS, PWI and DC in his IPL career, scoring 417 runs and picking up 14 wickets in 21 matches.
Apart from Hopes, the coaching staff also has Ajit Agarkar and Pravin Amre as the assistant coaches. Agarkar is a former Indian fast bowler who has 288 ODI wickets to his name, the third-highest by an Indian. He played for KKR and DC in IPL, whereas former Indian leg-spinner Amre represented the Indian team in 11 Tests and 37 ODIs.
DC 2024 Fielding Coach
The Delhi Capitals will have Biju George as their Fielding Coach in IPL 2024. Having tons of international coaching experience in the form of working with the Indian women’s team, Kuwait National Team, KKR for two seasons and SRH, George has brought in a lot of knowledge and skill onto the table for the Capitals since his appointment.
