The Delhi Capitals has undergone several changes over the years in all facets, including their ownership control and their name. However, the franchise has been one of the constants since the beginning of the lucrative T20 league in the summer of 2008. The franchise is set to unleash a new-look team under a new captain, Axar Patel, this summer in their bid to claim the elusive IPL title. The Delhi-based franchise is currently jointly owned by the GMR Group (Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao) and the JSW Group (Jindal South West). Both parties have 50 percent stakes in it.
