Reigning IPL champions Gujarat Titans enjoyed a lot of success against inaugural winners, Rajasthan Royals, in their debut season last summer.

The Hardik Pandya-led unit met the Royals' three times in IPL 2022- including the final- and it managed to come out on top on each of the three occasions.

In their first encounter, the Titans overcame the Sanju Samson-led Royals by 37 runs thanks to a blistering 52-ball 87 by skipper Hardik and three-wicket-hauls from the pace duo of Yash Dayal (3/40 in 4) and Lockie Ferguson (3/23 in 4).

Gujarat and Rajasthan next met in Qualifier 01, which proved to be a humdinger of an encounter, where Titans eventually came out trumps in a 189-run chase thanks to unbeaten knocks from David Miller (68* off 38).

The final encounter of the season between these two sides took place in the summit clash at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the all-round display of Hardik- 3/17 (4) & 34 (30)- powered the debutants to title glory in front of a raucous 100k+ home fans.
