Jasprit Jasbirsingh Bumrah is a proessional cricket bowler who represents the Indian national cricket team in all international formats. He was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat to his parents, father Late Jasbir Singh Bumrah and mother Daljit Bumrah. Born on December 06, 1993, he started his professional career in 2010, when he played in the Gujarat Cricket Association’s Under-19 District Game. He took 7 wickets in that game. Before the IPL 2013, former India’s coach and then Mumbai Indians (MI) coach John Wright recongnised the potential of Jasprit Bumrah and asked the franchise’s management to sign him for the season.

Jasprit Bumrah made his ODI debut in 2016 against Australia in Australia. On the same tour, he made his T20I debut on January 26, 2016. He then made his test debut against South Africa on January 05, 2018. In his professional career, he has won the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year (2024), Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy (2024), becomes the quickest Indian fast-bowler to reach 200 wickets in tests, second fast to reach 100 wickets in ODIs, and was named the player of the tournament at the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024.

Daljit Bumrah is the mother of Jasprit Bumrah. She served as the pre-primary principal of Nirman High School in Ahmedabad, as per Indian Express. It is the same school where Jasprit Bumrah completed his primary schooling. She took all the financial and household responsibilties after the death of her husband, Late Jasbir Singh Bumrah.
