Last Modified Jan 29, 2020 10:28 GMT

All the Temtem present in the game have Type(or two) which defines their characteristics and traits. In brief, Temtem types dictate whether one Temtem is strong or weak - super effective or not very effective - against another, dealing additional or reduced damage as a result - and receiving additional or reduced damage.

As of now, 12 Types of Temtem are available in the game all of which differ greatly from each other. Types also contribute to synergies that are present in the game. Understanding type advantage/disadvantage and using them effectively can turn the tide of any battle. Here is a complete chart of all the types available in Temtem-

Temtem is still in early access and Crema is yet add a lot of features. There is a possibility that typing matchups might change slightly with future updates but will remain the same for most part.

Neutral Temtem

As the name suggests, Neutral Temtem are versatile and fit for almost every situation. They are not particularly strong against a specific type but are not weak either. Their only bad matchup is against Mental Temtem, which are sparingly available in the game as of now.

  1. Effective against: None (deals 1x damage)
  2. Ineffective against: Mental (deals 0.5x damage)
  3. Resistances: None (receives 1x damage)
  4. Weak against: Mental (receives 2x damage)

Fire Temtem

Fire Temtem can only be acquired after a Tamer reaches the mid-game. They are great against Crystle Temtem, that boast high defence and bulkiness. However, they are super weak to Water Temtem and Earth Temtem as well.

  1. Effective against: Nature and Crystal (deals 2x damage)
  2. Ineffective against: Fire, Water and Earth (deals 0.5x damage)
  3. Resistances: Fire, Nature and Crystal (receives 0.5x damage)
  4. Weak against: Water and Earth (receives 2x damage)

Nature Temtem

A well-rounded class with decent stats. Nature Temem are not exceptional in any one category but are usually Jack of all trades. They are great for setting up plays and often work on a Synergy basis.

  1. Effective against: Water and Earth (deals 2x damage)
  2. Ineffective against: Fire, Nature and Toxic (deals 0.5x damage)
  3. Resistances: Water, Nature, Electric and Earth (receives 0.5x damage)
  4. Weak against: Fire and Toxic (receives 2x damage)

Electric Temtem

One of the most busted class at the moment, Electric Temtem are great in the early parts of the game. They are the MVP for the first island of the game and can absolutely decimate the first Dojo of the game.

  1. Effective against: Water, Mental, Wind and Digital (deals 2x damage)
  2. Ineffective against: Nature, Electric, Earth and Crystal (deals 0.5x damage)
  3. Resistances: Electric and Wind (receives 0.5x damage)
  4. Weak against: Earth and Crystal (receives 2x damage)

Earth Temtem

Generally, a bulky class that boasts a lot of resistances. They usually act as the damage absorber, giving other Temtem in your party an opportunity to deal damage. However, they have decent stats which allow them to take the role of primary damage dealer whenever needed.

  1. Effective against: Fire, Electric and Crystal (deals 2x damage)
  2. Ineffective against: Water, Nature and Wind (deals 0.5x damage)
  3. Resistances: Fire, Electric, Crystal and Toxic (receives 0.5x damage)
  4. Weak against: Water, Nature, Wind and Melee (receives 2x damage)

Mental Temtem

Apart from Houchic(starter), Mental Temtem are very hard to find in the game. They are a great asset to any roster and can be a surprise element to your enemies.

  2. Ineffective against: Electric and Wind (deals 0.5x damage)
  3. Resistances: Earth and Wind (receives 0.5x damage)

As of now, no Digital Temtem is tamable in the game. A mysterious class, that is certainly strong, to say the least. They are a poison of their own as Digital Temtem are weak to only themselves. The arch-nemesis of the main character has a Digital Temtem, and tamers will have to wait before Crema makes them catchable in the game.

  1. Effective against: Mental, Digital and Melee (deals 2x damage)
  2. Ineffective against: None (deals 1x damage)
  3. Resistances: Toxic (receives 0.5x damage)
