Woods' Valspar Championship lead has Hatton excited
Tiger Woods' surge into the lead at the Valspar Championship is whetting the appetite of golf fans the world over, and seemingly the American great's fellow pros are getting excited too.
The 14-time major champion was four under through 14 holes of his second round on Friday, which left him in the outright lead at five under par.
Woods' is continuing his return from a fourth major back surgery last year and has been showing promising signs during his comeback on the PGA Tour, including finishing 12th at the Honda Classic.
But he is threatening to do even better in Palm Harbor, where the American is drawing typically big crowds as golf fans wait with anticipation to see if Woods can remain in contention to win a first PGA Tour title since 2013.
And excited world number 13 Tyrrell Hatton is among those cheering Woods on, posting on Twitter "When you go onto the PGA Tour app and see Woods is T1" alongside this comical gif…
