Grand Theft Auto fans are eagerly waiting to meet new characters in GTA 6's story mode. However, some also hope to see a few returning figures from GTA 5, which is possible given past trends. While it would be fun to see some side characters making a trip to Vice City from Los Santos, major returns like Trevor Philips could really grab some attention.
Trevor is one of the three GTA 5 protagonists, and although it is rare for a GTA lead character to show up in another title, the possibility cannot be denied completely. This article will look at five ways GTA 6's story mode could connect with Trevor from GTA 5.

Here are 3 possible ways in which GTA 6's story mode could connect with Trevor from GTA 5
1) Explain his absence
Besides GTA 5's story mode, Trevor Philips has appeared in GTA Online as well. He has his own Contact Missions and appears during the Series A Funding Heist, added in 2015. However, it seems that the character has abandoned his old association since, and possibly might have moved somewhere else.
During the introductory cutscene of the Hangar property in the multiplayer, Ron, a close friend of Trevor, says this:
"That bastard Trev-, my best friend, who was supposed to protect me forever, then he goes all Vinewood on me, he's too important for Ron now. He's a guru, he's a lifestyle coach, I don't know what he is."
Perhaps Grand Theft Auto 6 could provide a glimpse of this new aspect of Trevor in Vice City or some other part of Leonida, the state in which the GTA 6 map is set.
2) Feature as a heist crew member

GTA 6 trailer 2 briefly shows Jason and Lucia, the upcoming title's protagonists, in the middle of a heist. One of the short clips on Rockstar Games' revamped Grand Theft Auto 6 web page also shows them in a shootout with the cops, with veteran bank robber Raul Bautista.
Heists are an incredibly popular aspect of GTA 5's story mode and its multiplayer, GTA Online. Grand Theft Auto 4's bank heist mission, Three Leaf Clover, is a fan favorite too, and it looks like players might get more of this in the series' next entry.
If that is to be the case, Trevor Philips, who himself has been a part of quite a few heists in his day, can be featured as an optional crew member in GTA 6's story mode. This would be similar to the role Packie McReary from GTA 4 played in Rockstar's 2013 title.
3) Use Steven Ogg's pitch
Steven Ogg, who played Trevor Philips in GTA 5, has pitched quite an idea for his character's cameo in GTA 6. During an interview earlier this year, he suggested it would be fun if Trevor appeared in the sequel, but only to be killed at the beginning.

This would be pretty similar to how he was reintroduced in GTA 5 story mode, brutally murdering Johnny Klebitz, protagonist of Grand Theft Auto 4's story mode DLC, The Lost and Damned. Additionally, having Jason or Lucia do this would help establish them as a deadly duo.
If Rockstar has no big plans for Trevor Philips, this idea might work as a fitting sendoff for a character like him and the Grand Theft Auto 5 era.
