Grand Theft Auto fans expect a GTA Online Summer DLC to drop in the coming weeks. Rockstar Games hasn't made any such announcements yet, but the current GTA+ cycle will run through Monday, and whenever that has happened, a new DLC has arrived the next day. This is why many players are busy preparing for all the fresh content this potential update might add.

While that is a good move, there are some things to avoid just before an update arrives. For those interested, here are five things not to do in GTA Online before the Summer DLC 2025.

Buying expensive vehicles and 4 other things not to do in GTA Online before Summer DLC 2025

1) Buying a new business

Businesses can help make a lot of money in GTA Online, and Rockstar Games has provided players with plenty of options. That said, since a new DLC might be coming out soon, players are advised to wait.

That's because content updates can add a new business. So, it would be good to first check if the latest potential offering is better than the existing ones, and then make a decision.

2) Buying expensive vehicles

GTA Online boasts a near-endless vehicular catalog. Although close to 200 cars were removed in 2023, there are still a bunch of options. In fact, many are really good, not just in terms of performance, but other factors, too, like offensive and defensive measures.

Needless to say, such options can cost quite a lot. Therefore, players should hold off a little on this kind of purchase right now and wait to see if Summer DLC 2025 adds any better options.

3) Buying expensive weapons

The story is pretty much the same here. Content updates can add new weapons, sometimes at launch, and often a bit later through drip-feed. The game already has a potent arsenal, but it shouldn't hurt to wait and see if anything better gets introduced in the coming weeks.

This is more about expensive firearms, but there are affordable ones that players can go for, as weapons are a necessity for almost every GTA Online activity. In fact, the Service Carbine, one of the very best assault rifles, can be obtained free of cost through a quest.

4) Don't do sell missions of a business with high stock

The current GTA Online weekly update will run through June 16, 2025, on Monday, whereas they usually run through Wednesdays. This has also contributed to fans expecting a Summer DLC on June 17. And with the current weekly update ending the previous day, a fresh one should kick off alongside.

Rockstar can increase the payout of sell missions with weekly updates. Therefore, one should wait and see if that happens to their business with a full or even high amount of stock to maximize the profits. Playing heists, FIB Files, or the Oscar Guzman Flies Again campaign to be prepared monetarily for the potential Summer DLC would be better.

5) Don't burn yourself out

GTA Online's gameplay loop is pretty grindy, and going over the same heists and jobs can become boring quickly. This especially applies to those who have been playing for many years now.

New content added with the potential Summer DLC 2025 might turn out somewhat similar in structure to existing jobs. Hence, although it is advised to run through heists and high-paying missions for monetary preparation, one shouldn't burn themselves out grinding them, as that might prevent them from enjoying any new additions to the fullest.
