Kelvin Gastelum is a prominent American professional mixed martial artist who is signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on October 24, 1991, in San Jose, California, USA. Gastelum took an interest in mixed martial arts after an early stint with wrestling; he earned his black belt in 10th Planet Jiu-jitsu under Brian Beaumont. Kelvin Gastelum ventured into professional mixed martial arts and made his debut on December 11, 2010, against Jose Sanchez at Latin American Fighter 1: Border Wars. He shut Sanchez’s lights off in the second round and won the fight via TKO.

Gastelum took off to a winning start to his career and compiled a 10-fight winning streak before suffering his first professional loss. Kelvin Gastelum appeared in The Ultimate Fighter: Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen and locked horns with Uriah Hall on April 13, 2013. He secured a split-decision victory and won a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
