One of the most promising global boxing superstars in the making, Vergil Ortez Jr. has made his whole professional career a statement. With a career that started in 2016, the 26-year-old American boxer is still undefeated in his sport winning all 21 of his bouts via knockout. With a finish rate that ranges up to 100 percent, Ortez Jr. is undoubtedly one of the finest welterweight and had previously won the WBO international welterweight title. However, like any athlete’s nightmare, Vergil Ortiz Jr. has also had a serious rhabdomyolysis injury that kept him away from boxing for almost 17 months.

Nevertheless, Vergil Ortiz Jr. made his comeback earlier this year and won two bouts via first-round TKO and KO, respectively. The first one took place in January 2024, and the second in April 2024. This itself proves the ravening side of the 26-year-old orthodox boxer. Moreover, he is now gearing up for his third showdown in 2024, and let us take a closer look at his upcoming fight.

Earlier, Vergil Ortiz Jr. was supposed to face the former WBC light middleweight champion, Tim Tszyu on the undercard of Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov on August 3, 2024. Meanwhile, Serhii Bohachuk won the WBC interim light middleweight championship in his last fight against Brian Mendoza via decision on March 30, 2024. Moreover, the 29-year-old Ukrainian boxer is currently on a six-fight win streak, with five of his last six fights being won via finishes.
