Curtis "Razor" Blaydes is a heavyweight UFC fighter, born on February 18, 1991, in Naperville, Illinois. He is popularly known for his strong wrestling game and heavy ground-and-pound fighting style. Blaydes began wrestling in high school by winning a state title, before joining Harper College, where he became an NJCAA National Champion in wrestling. He made his professional mixed martial arts debut in 2014 and quickly earned notice after putting together a string of TKO wins. His UFC debut came on April 10, 2016, against Francis Ngannou. He lost that fight but rebounded with a victory over Cody East, earning his first Performance of the Night bonus.

Blaydes has already had a pretty good run in the UFC, with wins over big names such as Alistair Overeem, Mark Hunt, and Junior dos Santos. The Naperville native also holds the record of the UFC heavyweight with the most takedowns. There were still some hiccups on his UFC run, like defeats against Sergei Pavlovich and Derrick Lewis, but for the most part, he has dominated to stay at the top end of the division. In his last fight, Blaydes dispatched the rising Brazilian prospect Jailton Almeida via a knockout. As of July 2024, Blaydes is training for a rematch with Aspinall for the UFC interim Heavyweight Championship at UFC 304.
